Let food be thy medicine…

Food is the best medicine! Most of us don’t need some highly specialized nutritional plan. Most of us don’t want or need to have a huge workout routine with multiple daily workouts or expensive gym memberships. Most of us should not have to take prescriptions to treat symptoms of conditions that result from a lack of basic nutrition or a sedentary lifestyle. I HATE the gym. For most of my patients, when I recommend they get active, I don’t really care if they walk, hike, run, lift weights, bowl, play a sport, or whatever. They could go to the gym a few days a week – if that’s what they enjoy. I want them to find a physical activity and enjoy it regularly throughout the week. It is good physically, but also mentally and emotionally. If you don’t enjoy an activity, you are significantly less likely to continue doing it. I don’t typically recommend crazy nutritional guidelines for most patients – unless there is a serious underlying condition or they have a personal goal that requires it. For most of us if we eat a nice blend of veggies, whole grains (without much wheat), and proteins, we can have good health. If I do recommend a nutritional plan more involved, it’s more than likely for 30-90 days before returning to a simpler approach. Again – this is unless there is an underlying metabolic or medical condition that requires a different intervention. For most of us, simply eating well and being active is an easy undertaking and can keep us off the pills… Eating quality food and being active can keep most of us healthy… Learn how #FunctionalMedicine, #acupuncture, natural medicines, and a good nutritional plan can help you regain and maintain your health: https://3pacupuncture.com # sandiego #menopause #menieres #migraines #chronicmigraine #bellspalsy #autoimmune #autoimmunedisease #chronicfatigue #autoimmunewellness #invisibleillness #chronicpain #fibromyalgia #MECFS #chronicfatiguesyndrome #sjogrens #IBD #IBS #hashimotos #RA #rheumatoidarthritis #Lupus #MS #multiplesclerosis #MCAS #MCAD #Parkinsons #Alzheimers #spoonie image source: https://www.pinterest.com/WellGalBlog/holistic-health-humor/
